WE RELATE FROM the books of at-Tirmidhī and Ibn Mājah that Abū Hurayrah
related that a man said: “Messenger of Allah, I am about to travel, so give me some advice.” The Messenger of Allah
said: “I advise you to have fear of Allah
and to say takbīr on every ascent.” When the man turned away he said: “O Allah, shorten the distance for him and make the journey easy for him.” [1].At-Tirmidhī describes this hadith as ḥasan.
Allāhumma-ṭwi lahu-l-bu‘da wa hawwin ‘alayhi-s-safar.
