The prohibition of needlessly raising the voice in battle

Context

AND WE RELATE from the Sunan of Abū Dāwūd from Qays ibn ‘Ubād, a Tābi‘, may Allah be merciful to him—spelled with a ḍammah on the ‘ayn and an undoubled bā’—that the Companions of the Messenger of Allah Honorific symbol used to dislike it when people raised their voices in battle. [1].
