The prohibition of staying silent all day
Context
WE RELATE IN the Sunan of Abū Dāwūd, with a ḥasan isnād, that ‘Alī 
narrated: “I memorised [this] from the Messenger of Allah 
: ‘One is no longer an orphan after puberty, and there is no keeping silent from day to night.’” [1].
