Du‘ā’ and repentance in the second half of the night

Context

WE RELATE FROM the Ṣaḥīḥs of al-Bukhārī and Muslim that Abū Hurayrah Honorific symbol reported that the Messenger of Allah Honorific symbol said: “Our Lord comes down to the lowest Heaven in the last third of every night and says: ‘Who will supplicate to Me, that I may answer his prayer? Who will ask of Me, that I may give to him? Who will ask Me for forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’”256 According to a narration in Muslim he Honorific symbol said: “Every night, Allah Honorific symbol comes down to the earthly Heaven when the first third of the night has passed and says: ‘I am the King, I am the King. Who will supplicate to Me, that I may answer his prayer? Who will ask of Me, that I may give to him? Who will ask Me for forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’ He continues to do this until the break of dawn.” According to another report he said: “When half the night or two-thirds of the night has passed.” [1].
